Tank specs:
  • 72 gallon
  • 4X65 W CF lighting (8 hours 2X65 W, 3 hours 4X65W)
  • CO2: Pressurized @ 1.5 bps
  • pH < 6
  • kH < 2

Fauna:
  • 15 Congo Tetras
  • 30+ Cardinal Tetras
  • 1 SAE
  • 3 ottocats

Flora:
  • Valisineria giagantea
  • Microsorum pteropterus (narrow leaf and normal varieties)
  • Bolbitus heudolittii (spelling ?)
  • Glossostigma elatanoides
  • Riccia fluitans
  • Anubias barteri var nana
  • Anubias coffeefolia
  • Crytocoryne wendtii "green"
  • Crytocoryne lutea
  • Crytocoryne crispulata var. balanse

Decorative materials include manzanita, petrified wood. Some plants need to fill out still.

Comments welcome not too sure what to do with foreground in middle of tank, might put a low lying plant (glosso or HC, maybe dwarf hairgrass).

Wow, your fish are lovey. The wisps of branches that reach into the open water seem to be a reflection of the beautiful finnage on the congos. It was just a peek at your tank but it was worthwhile. You must enjoy it.

Awesome tank? What store did you get the Congo's from? I'm trying to source them and am thinking of getting them from April. They look awesome with the Cardinals too.

I got my congos from Great White Pet's in Maple Ridge...they were about $7 per fish (1.5 inches long at time). I think the cheapest place to get them is Big Al's in Burnaby where they used to sell them @ $3.99/fish (really small though)...still might sell em at that price, but not sure. They don't look all that impressive when you first get them, because the males are quite immature and have underdeveloped finnage and colors don't show in crowded tank.
