7 days after planting~
Been doing 50% water changes everyday for the first week with EI dosing.
Lights on for 6 hours with co2 at 5bps. Upping the lighting duration on the second week to 7 hours.
I added a GH booster a few days ago to increase general hardness. After dosing, the rotala green seemed to be growing a lot better. Most of the lower leaves are melting off but the new growth is looking strong. Rotala colorata seems to be losing its red color so I am thinking about purchasing some iron as well. Will be adding more rotala green to the background when it is available.

Glosso is on its way up, with only a few runners growing horizontally. After tonight's photo period, I will trim them in hopes of training them to grow flat.

clean tank, having a hard time visualizing how it'll turn out but I'm game for any 60P's!

Be careful with the harlequin raspora's, I had a group of 6 in my 60p and they liked to jump out. I had one that would jump from my 60P to my 45P (right next to the 60) every time I moved him back. The rest eventually jumped out so I would recommend a screen top.

I have a group of 12 in my 20g long and they're happy however so I'm not sure why they jumped out of the 60.

@Confidentblue tryna to go for the bushy rotala look but I started with less stems than I should. I had a school of chili rasboras before but all of them end up jumping out of the tank. I might look into different fauna. I like ember tetras as well.

2 week update~
I raised my light another inch after realizing that at 12" above the substrate I was hitting around 105 par. It now sits at 14" above the substrate which should be around 80 par.
Trimmed the glosso again, 7 days after the initial trim, as it was still showing some vertical growth. However, more of the glosso are starting to creep along the substrate. I plan to be pretty aggressive with trimming vertical growth. Once it gets a good base i'll trim it to the bones.
Some of the rotala sp green stems were turning black so I trimmed those as well and replanted the healthy portions. Hopefully I'll find sometime next week to pick up more from AFA.

3 week update~

Picked up 20 more stems of rotala sp green from AFA. Also got the chance to visit albany aquarium on tuesday, so I picked up 3 otos and 2 amano shrimp to start off my cleaning crew. Noticed some stunting of the rotala tips so I upped the Co2 levels and fixed the positioning of the lily pipes for better flow throughout the whole tank. Got some nice pearling from all plants. Glosso has shown leggy growth with the leaves but with more/better distributed Co2 there seems to be fuller growth. The higher levels of Co2 caused the fish and shrimp to act a little weird so I will be lowering it back down.

Looking good! Waiting to see how the rotala continues to grow. Hopefully you'll trim it into a nice lush bush.

@kcirtappatrick thank man! lets see some pics of your tanks!

@mistuhmarc hopefully it turns out like I plan. The rotala colorata grows a lot faster vertically than the sp. green. I'll try my best to match the growth rates to get a nice fully rounded and even bushy look.

Week 4 update~
Glosso, after being trimmed, is starting to really hug the substrate. The new growth looks good! Cant wait for it to completely carpet the foreground. The eleocharis is curling down towards the substrate and is sending out a good number of runners. Once the rotala starts shading it, I hope to see more vertical growth. I also doubled up on rotala stems after a big trim and replanted all the tops.

@dru thanks!

Week 5 Update~
Was a little busy during the past week so the diffuser wasnt pumping out enough co2. Growth from rotala slowed and showed some deficiency. After cleaning, normal growth is back on track. I trimmed the glosso as low as possible as well as the eleocharis. Diatoms, GDA, GSA, and Rhizoclonium has appeared on the aquarium glass after the decrease in co2 levels.

I got a little tied up with school and as a result this tank got neglected. So I tore out all the stem plants and redid the scape. This scape was actually redone about a month ago. Last week, I had also picked up some E. acicularis which I planted in the background. For the past month, E. parvula was growing at a good rate so I trimmed it every week down to the substrate. After about 3 weeks of repeated trimming, growth slowed down significantly. I also noticed that some of the growth looked a little pale, yellow, and some of the old growth was a really dark green color. I added ADA multi-bottom to provide more nutrients for the roots since this soil is about 6 months old. I really want to focus on balancing out light, co2, and ferts this time around. It's pretty stupid but before, my train of thought was just to throw everything together and hope that it would turn out awesome. So over the course of next week, I'll see how the root tabs affect growth. If its not helping then I'll focus on changing only one element per week in hopes of achieving balance!

After adding the ADA root tabs, the E. parvula seems to be doing a lot better. Growth is still pretty slow however the plant looks a lot greener and is starting to send off some runners.
E. acicularis is adapting well to my tank. There were a few wavy leaves probably due to low co2 since there was a good amount of algae growing over the diffuser.
Glosso is doing its thing and growing vertical. I plan on trimming it next week after it establishes a decent root system.
