I was inspired by some of the beautiful, low-tech Walstad style bowls that I have seen here on the forum. At work we recently updated our furniture and changed offices and I decided that I want to have a nice, low maintenance tank on the corner of my desk.
Tank: 1.5 gallon Libby glass bubble ball bowl
Lighting: Sylvania 13w 6500K mini CFL in a architect lamp
Substrate: Miracle grow organic choice potting mix capped with Azoo plant grower bed.
Dwarf hairgrass (Elocharis parvula)
Water wisteria (Hygrophila difformis)
Moss (Not sure what type, might be Christmas)
Amazon frogbit (Limnobium laevigatum)
I attached the moss to the driftwood with a small dab of super glue. I added in water wisteria because it will grow quickly and absorb excess nutrients until the system becomes stabilized. I will remove it at that point.
I have started in on daily water changes and I am going to wait until the dwarf hairgrass has firmly rooted before I attempt transporting the tank to work.
