10g project: dad's scape.

Hey guys,

So I recently bought the things to finally start my 10 gallon standard tank. I was wondering if you have any ideas how to incorporate a sunken ship into a planted/rock scape?

I have a ship that I want to play around with because dad always thinks a sunken ship is cool. (Gotta impress ze parents)

The ship is kind of like this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B007IUGUS6/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/278-0991365-5036606
Basics:

Substrate: soil/sand/rock
Plants: mosses, small crypt, maybe a fern.
Filter: sponge
Inhabitants: betta & 3-4 Pygmy corrys and or shrimp.
Lighting: DIY hood with basic light/cfl.
Co2: no.

I want to do a large rock with lifted back type of look(mountains)

Now I can modify the ship if you guys recomend breaking it up to look cool or burning some to represent a fire.

Ah, its just like a aircraft carrier about 8-9 inchs long.

I had this idea to cut off the base and than cut it in half at an angle to represent it breaking in half (much like the titanic) but maybe put pieces and edges in a flame to burn some for more realistic effects.

For my fish stock, I want to get a betta but are the corries, or are shrimp a better bottom idea? I already have corries in my 20l so I am leaning more towards shrimp.

Bettas usually do well with Corys. Unless you get a very aggressive Betta. A very aggressive 1 will flare up his gills when you stare him down.
