20L needs inspiration

I was recently able to get a 20L for a KILLER deal. ($10) It is in good condition and holds water.

I put Flourite in the bottom then experimented and put some Worm Castings in, then covered with black gravel. So far there has been minimal mixing.

I have a driftwood stump, some Red Ludwig, and some other plant from the lfs that I can't remember the name of. I will post pictures tonight.

I have 6 Rasbora Hets in there and I'm looking to get some kind of shrimp to add. Would 4 more Rasbora hets, some dwarf corys, and shrimp be too much??

I also need to get a better light. Right now I have a strong desk lamp(with daylight bulb) pointing in the tank. Looking to get a light strip in the next week.

Ideas?? Suggestions??

I think your choice of livestock is fine, as long as you don't overdo it with the shrimp. As far as the light is concerned, the most common fixtures that people (myself included) use on a 20L are the Coralife Freshwater Aqualight 30" 2x18w fixtures. I have 2 of these fixtures, for 72w, which gives me medium-high lighting. But many people successfully use a single one of these fixtures, provided their choice of plants doesn't require high lighting.

Go to bigalsonline.com and do a search for coralife 30" and you'll see it. They are nicely priced, too.

Best of luck!

If it will help, here's my stocking list in my 20L:

6 black neons
7 otos
15 amano shrimp

I still think I have room for more fish, but i wouldn't add any more shrimp unless I added a bunch more plants.

That does help. I was thinking about getting yellow shrimp for this tank and maybe 2 otos. I'm plant shopping now so it will be HEAVILY planted.

Oh, by the way, I don't think your option 3 will work out too well.
