Having gotten rid of my big tanks, my focus is now on my 20L. My goals for this tank are to have a successful high tech tank, since my low techs have been doing fine through a lot of neglect. I haven't had any real success yet in the high tech arena, and I've finally got all my equipment in working order.
I'm going to be attempting a moss tree. These appear to be difficult to get right, as I have seen a lot of them end up looking very messy. I am tentatively naming the tank 'Tire Swing' because the tree is situated over a sand river, and reminds me of places I used to go swimming in the summer.
Tank: AGA 20 gallon long
Filter: Eheim 2215
CO2: 10lb tank with Rex Regulator and inline reactor
Light: Coralife 1x65W (Soon will be 2x65W run on noon burst)
Tuffa Rock (I think? It passed the vinegar test.)
Manzanita "Nano Tree"
This is a messy one. Several types of substrate are in this tank due to
my indecisiveness and cheapness. The bottom layer is SMS Charcoal.
This is capped with a layer of Eco-complete, since SMS blows around the
the tank when a shrimp farts. Finally, there is some Aquasoil in the mix
that came with my HC.
Java Fern 'Trident' (?)
Java Fern 'Philippine'
Hygrophila 'Porto Vehlo' (pending)
Blyxa Japonica (pending)
Here are some pics of the tank while it was still emersed:
The tank has since been filled, I will update when I get more time.
