Ok here it is. Not really full planted but no fake stuff, as of now I have a nice piece of drift wood with some java fern attached...and currently working on another piece of drift wood to get all the tannins out...I've been boiling it for the past 2 days about 6-7 times for 20-30min periods..still not in the clear...anyways hopefully after the tannins are all done bleeding out I have a nice little anubias that will be attached to it...but that it'll be all...

Tank Size - 20gal Long
Lighting - 18" t8 15w
Filtration - ZooMed TC-30
Substrate - Black Moon Sand
Inhabitants - Erythrinus Erythrinus
Plants - Duckweed (a bunch)
Java Fern
Anubias Minima ( coming soon )
Java Moss ( a little bit only)

For now just him alone, he'll get to about 6" and just about kill anything that moves in the tank. The only thing that may live with him for a while will be his live food.

Very cool. I like to see "different" setups. Same ol' community tetra or rasbora tanks get old.

Get some Crypts. They're the perfect low light plant.

Cool! Throw some Belonesox and Rhoeboides in there and see who wins.

[jk, I don't condone fish cage fighting would be crazy to watch though]

My ultimate pred tank would be a couple thousand gallons of Hydrocynus.

Haha I agree..I real predator tank would have to be at least a few thousand gallons....But this is the nastiest little thing I can find that is compact.

Also a correction with the fish species its is not Eryhtrinus Erythrinus it is in fact an Erythrinus SP Peru.

Talkin bout predators. I was at my LFS today and they had a grouper that would jump out of the water to eat his feeder-fish. The employee would just get a hand full of those gold fish and throw them at the tank from about 4 feet away. He even faked the fish out a few times. Talking about a smart fish.

this guy is pretty neat...even though he's only a little bit over three inches he'll follow anyone every time someone walks by the tank...i can also hand feed him for now, but after he gets about 6" I dont think i'll be doing that anymore.

Any updates on this tank? This is exactly what I'm trying to create for my Congo Puffer.
