New Planted 44gal Corner tank!

So, I've set up another tank and this one is for my girlfriend's mother in the waiting room of her office. She lives in Lakeland so I only can make it over there once a week to check on the tank, which is so frustrating! Usually when I set up a tank I can't just walk away. I always sit in front of it for hours staring, then tweaking a little here and there and staring more, but I digress.

I just set it up about a week ago and these are pics from about 4 days after setup. It's a 44 gallon tank with that new 100gal JBJ filter w/ built in u/v sterilizer (So far so good on that thing; it was such a good deal!). I used black flourite for the substrate and I am running 3 two-liter bottles of diy Co2 with a ceramic diffuser; also dosing with leafzone and a small amount of nitrogen until fish are added. The lighting is a 10k bulb and a power compact but I swapped out the blue attinic with a plant bulb. Also just to note, I'm using R/O water as well.

Plants consist of Red Tiger lotus, Anubias, java fern, ludwigia broadleaf, bacopa, and cabomba. I also have a constant supply of Riccia that grows like a wild fire in my dad's tank floating on the surface so I meshed it to some river stones in the front. The only other thing in there is driftwood.

Here are pics and I will add new pics in about a week when I get over there again. I wish that I had gotten more setup pics but I got caught up in the assembly process so sorry about that.

Right now the driftwood, even though presoaked, is tinting the water as usual so the next pics may be yellow. I've been told everything is looking great the the cabomba has already reached the surface.

Okay guys tell me what you think.

Very interesting. Is that moss on the rocks? Why did you choose this rectangle size tank?

It's Riccia on the rocks. And it's not a rectangle tank its a corner tank. The office needs room for chairs for patients to sit in the waiting room so that was the least obtrusive tank to have there.

Here is an update finally! Everything is growing wonderfully with the exception of the java fern strangely enough. Every time I add java fern to any fish tank I setup it always seems to go through a browning slow die off while in the process it is reproducing. The little babies always do wonderfully from then on with no browning. Any explanation for that? Anyways...pics!

I've already trimed and re-planted the cabomba 3 times

Does anyone have any input on my java fern situation? Does that sound normal to others or just me?

That happens to me with a few of my plants. Lots of plants go through a melting stage as they acclimate to the new tank. If the offspring are doing fine I wouldn't worry to much.

Alright that's what I was thinking but I've never spoken to anyone about it really, so other opinions are great

How many bottles of CO2 do you have to "power" a 44 gallon tank?

Right now I am running 3, 2 liter bottles and the drop checker reads a little under 30 ppm. which doesn't seem right because the plants aren't pearling. I just changed the fluid so I will check it again the next time I'm over there to see how it reads.

basically I'm still figuring it out lol.
