Sounguru's Aquatic Photo Journal (56k Beware) 04.30.09

Okay I will compile everything into one thread.... Now before we get started let's get all the techinical stuff out of the way.

EOS 40D
50 MM Macro 2.5
550EX Speedlight
Off Camera Cord
Carbon Fiber Tripod

When I shoot the camera settings are:

Shutter Speed 1/60th - 1/250th
ISO 100
F-Stop 5.6 - 22
Manual Focus
Live View 5x maginfaction

Now I do things a little different and want to still add a few thing in like a second flash and diffusers but that is down the road. The one thing I do is I hand hold the camera. Yea I know you are going but you have a tripod, well that is for the flash.

I also move the camera to focus it is quicker and easier than trying to focus the lens. I also always try to shoot straight through the glass not at an angle.

Now as with all things it is a learning process so let's put them in order so you can see the progress I made.

Here is a pic of the general setup I use.

So now on with the pictures.
