What camera gear are you using? I'm tempted to get a D80 setup with 18-200mm VR lens and a Tamron macro. I gotta start learning how to take pictures like these!

I use a EOS 40D with a 50mm macro (which I will upgrade to the 100MM soon) and a 550ex Flash with off camera cord and tripod to mount it on.

The D80 is a good camera but I use the magnifying view of the liveview function to make sure I have it really sharp kind of hard to do on the D80. Plus I'm a canon guy. If the D90 or whatever it is that they replace the 80 with, has liveview and you can magnify the image on the screen for focusing then that is a good deal.

Right now only their top 3 cameras do that.

Now with canon even their newest dirt cheap DSLR has that ability and will run about $500....

I'm amazed at your patience. Awesome.

My only suggestion is that the colors aren't as vivid as I'd expect. Maybe it's a color profile or monitor calibration thing, but I'd expect a bit more in the reds and greens.
