Well, I decided to set it up (mainly to put on doing math homework
It did eventually
So the idea was to have a 'river' of sand. I know you have all seen it before, but I like it
And I had this little bridge laying around (came with the $2 Box o' fish stuff!)
Added gravel to the outside (might switch it, not sure yet. It's not going to be planted with lots of stems or anything, so I think the gravel will be OK)
Added the sand
Here is is more eye level, with the bridge too.
Planted a bit, added some manzanita driftwood. I was going for a "tree" of "stump" look.
Once I went to put on the filter, I realized that the wood needed to be on the other side of the tank. So after about 30 minutes of playing with it, and three zipties, I was happy
Pics from last night:
From this morning
I'm pretty happy so far. There's some E Tenellus, E. angustifolious, dwarf sag and a moss ball in there. Maybe I'll put some moss on the "tree", not decided one way or the other yet!
I have two baby platies in there right now, they'll come out when the shrimp go in. The filter media is from cycled filters, which should seed this tank nicely, and speed things up
So, what does everyone think?
