FS emmersed hc journal awesome 7-16

so i put the hc in last week i'm using mineralized mud that i made with crushed root tabs and water every other day with tank water

this is what it's in

full top view

you can do with less water. you'll get BGA soon enough with that much water but it's harmless.

I wonder if one can do it with the mosses as well or would it be to warm for that species????

i had some T moss and it started to grow but i took it out for hc and there is less than cm of water in there it just looks deeper for some reason

Good work. I've spoken to you about doing this in the past, did you put this outside or inside?

I was growing mine in miracle grow, but within the last week switched everything over to Schultz aquatic soil from Home Depot. Since the aquatic soil is inert, I'm fertilizing with regular aquatic fertilizers.

Here's a pic from last week before I traded some away. I know have 3 of those pans set up for HC and one for UG.

it gets too hot out side so it is under my t5 fixture for 7 hours a day once it fills in i will put it in a bigger pan

when I met up with kurt locally he said that he was using a regular old incadescent light bulb.. 60w..

he set me up with a ton of it.. good think he lives close!

Yes, I was using a 60 watt bulb until recently when I added more plastic containers. I now have 2 60 watt bulbs over 3 containers and 1 container sitting near a window getting natural light.

I'm not quite sure, but I think is is the bottom tray you would see holding individual potted plants at a store.
