My Low/Mid-Tech 29 (Update 07/12)

Hello everyone, I'm fairly new to the site and after looking at everyone else's tanks I decided I should show mine.

Tank: 29
Filtration: Rena XP2
Lighting: Coralife 65w (6700k) Compact Flourescent
Substrate: Este's Sand + Sera's Floredepot
Co2: Red Sea Bio system with DIY Recipe
Fertilizer: (Using EI Method) Flourish Comprehensive, Kent FE, Plantex + CSM+B, KNO3, KH2PO4, K2SO4.
Inhabitants: 2x Cleithracara Maronii, 1x Hypancistrus sp. (L-066), 1x Ancistrus Ranunculus (L-034) 3x Corydoras Aeneus, 2x Corydoras Schwartzi, 1 x Brochis Splendens, 6x Otocinclus macrospilus.
Plants: Echinodorus bleheri 'compacta', Anubias Barteri var 'Nana', Anubias Barteri var 'Nana Petite', Anubias Barteri, Blyxa Aubertii, Didipilis Diandra, Rotala Indica, Lobelia Cardinalis, Echinodorus 'Kleiner Bar', Crinum Thaianum, Vallisneria Spiralis var 'Tortissima', Sagittaria subulata, and Hygrophila corymbosa 'siamensis'.

Please pardon the debris, these shots were taken a few minutes after a water change

I'll add more shots as growth progresses. Thanks for taking the time to check out my tank!

awesome looking tank. very well done. I usually dont like swords in layouts but you pulled it off very well. LOVE the right side. How do you get your hygro corymb. to grow? I have the same specs as you (except I have eco complete and my light is 10000k not 67000k but thats about it)??
again looks great

Wow, I wasn't expecting a response so quick! Thank you everyone for the nice words, it means a lot.

Blazey, I honestly couldn't tell you how it grows, a buddy of mine gave me a small cutting from his and it has since taken off.

It looks very bright and clean looking.

The white sand the bright lights and the extra green plants make a shining sensation to your tank.

It looks very neat

One month in.

Very nice setup yourself!

Hope you are able to keep the sand clean looking in the future. I've had trouble with it in the past, that's why I grow foreground plants

Nice tank! I love how you have stones that contrast with the sand. It is so bright and clean, i love it

I remembered when i had play sand, my fish were poop machines and made the sand all dirty

Can't wait to see it progress.

Very nicely done! The layout is well-planned yet very natural-looking.

Unfortunately you'll have to replace those swords at some point- otherwise they'll overgrow the entire tank. They look perfect as they are right now, though

I am able to keep mine manageable by pruning the larger leaves.I don't know what that will do in the long run,but it has been working for me for about a year.

Thank you everyone for the nice comments! I know the swords will eventually be an issue, I don't even really want the "compacta" swords but I can't just throw them out..

I've got some tweeking to do today so I should have a few more pictures up later.

Nice crisp layout! The swords deal with the height of the tank nicely...
