what kind of lighting (bulbs) are you using on your tank? I really like the "color" of the light and how it makes those cardinals pop...is there a 10k bulb in there somewhere, perhaps?

Foreground plants are a mix of Lilaeopsis brasilienis and Sagitaria platphylla.Red plant is Alternanthera rosaefolia. And yes there is 1 10 k bulb on the left side.I,ll take a pic with the canopy open in a couple minutes.

now this makes sense...really nice job on the lighting - it's soooo important, and often times I think is overlooked by a lot of people. People's taste differ, though, so maybe this is the reason I see beautifully planted tanks with (what I think are) nauseating lights over them that seem to wash out plant colors and casting eerie orange and yellow glows throughout the tank...
More details about your lighting (and whole setup, really) would be great when you get a chance!

Hills and valley's,not planned but I see what you mean. Thanks!I plan on more new plants this week and building a hopefully decent clean up crew.I'll see what I can get.Currently having a prob with sunlight hitting the left side of the tank in the later afternoon.Hence I blacked out the left side panel but the sun is still glancing off the front face giving me a bit of "blue green algae" there. Also having delays with my co2 replenishment.Other than that...Good Times!Hey,I heard that Otto cats are good algae eaters(some types of algae) and pink foxes.Any thoughts?

Looks great! I'm suprised those rainbows don't pick on the cardinals! Can't wait until I do a tank longer than 4ft planted. My biggest planted is 90G.

really nice tank.
Im upgrading from a 55 to a 110 in a few weeks. How do you like the depth with your 110. is there plenty of room for carpets in front and tall in back?
Debating whether I should start it out with emersed carpet but have a ton of fish i would have to find a home for.
