After a year of compiling information on tanks and plants I thought I would share my experience with everyone in this journal. This is my new (well bought used) 75 gallon tank to replace my 50 gallon which was too small for what I wanted to do.
Tank: 48" x 18" x 21" 75 gallon
Filter: Fluval 305
Light: Coralife Aqualight 4X65 (2 x 6500, 2 X 10000)
CO2: Tank, regulator, and inline setup from Orlando
Heater: Inline Hydor 300W
Rotala rotundifolia sp. Green
Rotala macandra sp. Green
Proserpinaca palustris sp Cuba
Ludwiga Inclinata v Verticillata sp Cuba
Plants should arrive tomorrow from Aquaspot World and we'll start planting Saturday. Here's some preliminary pics setting up the tank.
Preparing to paint the back black.
Getting the old tank out of the way
My helper, he actually helped me get the old tank off the stand.
I have an old HOB filter on the tank right now filtering out the dust. This was kept to a minimum because most of the gravel was from my old tank. I had to add 2 new bags to get the depth I wanted. I put those on the bottom and my old gravel went on top. Hopefully tomorrow morning I can put the Fluval on to speed up the cycle process.
