My second planted tank (10g) journal thingy...

My second planted tank, my lucky bamboo outgrow its vase, those were clipings from my parents bigger plant, first started out as chopstick size, now its 10X the size or so, at first i was thinking about putting it into a bigger vase or some kind of bowl, that way i can put betta in it, all the gallon size bowl i saw was well over 15 bucks so i decided to get the 10g tank which was only 10 bucks, i still have lots of rocks and AS left from the other tanks so i decided to do a second planted tank, with some kind of fish, probly 10 tetras instead of the betta, and some small plants...

brow my 501 from my 20g tank with 20g cage top turtle tank, i use the ceramic rings and some floss to help with clear up the water and to speed up the cycle process

the second day, i added some glosso, which was pain in the ( Y ), at the end a lot of it still float everywhere, so it looks messy, i hope once it starts to grow it will look better, picture quality is really really poor due to the fact those were taken with free hand and i haven't had my coffee for couple days...

i added the rena smart filter 20, and the smart heater 50, which i was going to use as its main filter, but it was so loud i got rid of it, and going to exchange it for another 501

as of now, its almost zero tech, i removed the rena filter and heater, the light was only temp, its a clip on desk light with a 30w 2000 lumens 3k compact fluorscent, its got a light yellowish glo to it, i don't think it will grow plants, but i might be wrong. still in the process of looking for some kind of mini light, since its right next to my patio, it gets a bit of natural sunlight, i think only 2 or so hours during noon, thats about it, i've read some reports about home depot has some kind of CF? KF? light for 20 bucks which is good on nanos... so i might check it tomorrow. will add diy co2 once i got the light setup, probly the same setup as my 34g tank but in smaller portion, also hook onto the elite mini filter.
i added 4 neon tetra which i got it all for less then 2 bucks "lost one over the sink, it decided to jump into the sink drain, lost another one due to it some how got suck up into the smart filter, the rest i will not share" to help with the cycle, i figure since the rocks, filter and water was from a cycle tank, the fish should be okay, but i was wrong, somehow both tetra end up looking not so well and swin sideways... so i guess i'll do water check and another w/c tomorow night and just stick with fishless cycle

been lazy and haven't really update this page much, but i can't keep the glasso planted right, it just kept floating away, and the cory loves to dig it as well, so took that out and change it with micro sword, and change micro swords with blyxa japonica... also added 7 zebra danio, 7 long fin zebra danio, 3 cory... not sure what kind yet, and a shredded fin betta, not sure if its fin are suppost to be like that or its unhealthy...

That is a great idea for a background though! I love the idea of a bamboo screen look behind the tank that houses bamboo itself.

i like it, but your betta is severly obese (unless you just dumped a bunch of BS into the tank right before taking the pic); put him on a diet.

It looks great. I'm not seeing any other fish in that picture.

Thanks

feed some algae waffers to the cory, the betta probably wont touch that, but its got protein and everything (just tastes like algae).
