no tech 6g planted tank

12" cube. 11w pc bulb that's it

1" layer of John Innes #3 loam based potting compost,
sprinkling of crushed coral
1" layer of play sand

from memory there is; generic swords (bought some Tropica one, and it was 2 plants together, split them and shoved them in) sagitaria, java fern, straight vallis, crypts (no idea) hornwart and hairgrass.

5 amano shrimp to keep the algae down (its more or less non existent, and never on the glass) and a few snails, (that I remove as I find them, as their damaging the swords)

70% water change once every week or 2. that's it nothing else done to it

Interesting , how long has it been setup ? Your plant selection should prove to be your nemesis once they start to grow though. Swords and any Vals usually dont last long in a cube, actually...they usually dont even last long in a 20G...LOL
I always wanted to do a cube with just hairgrass and crypts and shrimp... would be very kool

I would like to see another photo in 8 weeks, looks nice.
