Maazo's 45cm odyssey

Here's a little project I've been working on over the last few months.

Tank: 45cm x 26cm x 27 cm (29L)
Lights: Hasse housing, 4 x 30W 10000K CF screw-in lamps
Substrate: ADA Aquasoil Amazonia + pool filter sand
Filtration: ToM Rapids Mini

Setup. Nice and neat. For the moment anyway...

Eleocharis acicularis and Anubias barteri var nana "Petite" added. Riccia fluitans & Lemna sp. as nutrient sponges during setup.

Took out Anubias as they were melting and replaced them with riccia on stones

Moved the riccia around a bit and added Blyxa japonica in between the stones. Note the increased mixing between the sand. That happened when I added some very sickly HC. Grrr x 2

Things picking up. Blyxa melted back but started shooting again (can't wait for it to fill out the right side of the tank).

Current state of play. Battling diatom and a bit of GSA but nothig too heavy. HC coming back slowly.

No livestock as yet, but not far off.

Comments/criticisms/ideas welcome.

Your Riccia looks great. Nice tank and stand.

Have you considered a black background?

I think it looks great without a background for this setup.

I think its beautiful, you just have to come up with a way to separate the sand and AS- that would drive me bonkers!

The plural of anecdote is not data
