My 20 long shrimp tank

I am putting together a 20 l tank for my orange eyed blue tigers, yellow shrimp and malawa shrimp. It is a used tank, so there's are some scratches, but I didn't notice them until I put in the substrate.

Substrate is peat moss, topped with some akadama, then capped with black sand (partly because I prefer the look of black sand, but also because I only had 1/3 a bag of akadama.

Hardscape is driftwood and lava rock.

Then I started adding plants.

I am trying to avoid the "look at all my cool plants so I stuck one of everything in there" look.

The layout is weighted more to one side because I will be looking at it most from the couch.

Close up of each side:

I wasn't fully happy with it, the lobelia was just not quite right.

Following some feedback from my local club I switched them around a bit, and am waiting to see how it grows in.

Lava Rocks are one of my favorite types of hardscape! Great choice
