ptown 10g shrimp tank

I decided to finally start my own journal, ive been in the hobby for about 5 months so I'm fairly new still but have had fish for about 5 years. I started with 25 red cherry shrimp and have ordered 5 fire cherries and 5 rili shrimp to add to my tank. If you have any suggestions for me please let me know! I am not using co2.

Specs:

Livestock:
Cherry red shrimp
fire red cherry shrimp
rili shrimp

Plants:
Micro sword
baby tears
xmas moss
java moss
A bunch of other plants that I havent got the name yet..

Tank:
10g diy rimless

Lighting:
Diy 15w 6500K

Filtration:
ZooMed 501 nano Filter

Substrate:
Eco complete

heater:
50w adjustable ebay

Off to a good start. However, why buy fire reds and rillis and mix them all together with standard cherries? They are all the same species and will breed together.

All three will breed together, so unless you want some random rili/cherry babies, you should try to move the rilis to a different tank :P. The fire reds will improve the color of the cherry shrimp babies over time, if you decide to cull.

My plan is to breed them together and eventually get a seperate tank for the rilis, I just want to experiment and see What I can come up with.

I do want them to breed and you are correct I bought the fires too breed with my regular cherries to improve the color of the offspring.

I got my new fire reds and rilis in the tank and there doing great! I will get pics up

be careful how much you feed such a small amount of shrimp. that looks like a huge wafer of food! fastest way to spoil you water is over feeding..

otherwise. tank looks great!

I learned that quickly lol now I just feed them shrimp max! Thanks for looking out.
