75gal planted cichlid tank w/DIY backround**updated 2/22/14**

here is a great deal i got on CL. this is my xmas gift from the kids.
its going to be a 75gal planted discus tank with a DIY rock backround. i will probably have it up and running by the spring time.

A few changes are going on.. I'm changing to an African cichlid tank due to many reasons.

Sounds like an interesting, vibrant color combo selection with 'life'. Are all those strains available from the supplier of your choice ? Must admit to not having seen a white diamond, or a lemon yellow diamond, unless they've been labeled in other terms that I'm familiar with.

Discuspaul... yeah unfortunately with discus one strain can come with many names alot depends on the breeder/importer. White diamond are fairly common in the US. And the yellow diamond I'm not sure about but know they have been called other names like canary yellow and stuff like that.

White diamond aka snow white

the backround is just 2 pieces of 3/4 in styrofoam from lowes glued together. then i had my wife draw up some rocks(i cant draw). i used a soldering iron to melt around the rock for a rough shape then i sanded to round them with a gorilla sanding block and a nail file(emery board)

Nice background!Sounds like some beautiful fish but take into consideration that white clouds prefer cooler water and the discus prefer warmer.I keep cardinals and rummynose with my discus.
I was breeding LF WC a couple years ago, really pretty fish.
