AGA : Trip to the Monterey Aquarium

Had the most fun weekend of my life, going to San Fran to the Aquatic Gardeners Association convention. Met up with many friends and people I know in the hobby, including Jay, Eric Do, Jeff Senski, Rhonda Wilson, Tom Barr, Jeff Ludwig, and a slew of others.

First day was a trip with Jay, Ghazanfar Ghori and myself to a bunch of aquarium shops in SF. Will post pics of that later. Second day was a trip to Monterey Bay Aquarium, great photo opportunities there. Here are some of my favorites :

Strawberry Field

Some type of blenny, very aggressive

Juvenile Garibaldi (one of my favorite sw fish)

Ray

Shark

Jelly (light up type, VERY difficult)

I'd go just to see all the jellys they display; nice photo of one.
I hear their kelp forest is pretty spectacular too, but you probably
need a pair of binoculars to see it all, as it's 3 stories tall
are there any rules about camera use at the aquarium?

Thanks for posting the pics. I see that the baby 5' Great White Shark is still there. Any word on when they are going to release it?

Very nice Ed, too bad I couldn't go to Monterey Bay Aquarium. Looks like I missed a lot.

Probably, I was hanging around with Jay and Ghaznafar for four days, if you saw them you saw me. We were the ones taking pics of the "iron man" challenge shots after they were completed.

Ian, it was fun, but it was my 2nd time and I did not even take as many pics as last time. The "behind the scenes" tour was interesting. Next time I am up North, maybe we'll do it again.

Dunno, but we were all surprized how small it was. I thought it would be bigger. So I think they will keep it for a while, till it grows up more.
