Byrophytes, natural bonsai and water falls

Nothing like a Sunday hike in the alpine mountains after liverworts and weeds and even a rattle snake.

Tom Barr

Mm.. as I recall you have a job fighting underwater weeds? where does all the free time spawn from? and where is the 1600-1700 tank journal on here?

Great pics Tom. They remind me of 40 Acre Rock in South Carolina.

And to think, I was the only crazy one going on hikes in the mountains. Just to look for byrophytes! I think Tom is trying to copy me....

Tom, interested in that liverwort that you found. The red one that I got from you awhile back is still with me and kicking it. Let's see some pics of the new one you found.

I hate the red liverwort, dang weed.

I am/cannot post large files here, there's only so much you can post as attachments, but I may post some as a web hoster.

I've had issues in the past with thieves stealing pics and they end up overseas on someone's commericial site or mags stealing them.
So I only post small pics as a result in public. You can still see stuff and get a feel for it, quit crying.

Pics are near 8000 ft or so in the Sierra just West of South Lake Tahoe off of HWY 50, the water fall is about 500ft tall. This is the low time of year, so when spring and winter are here, it'll be gushing.

With snow shoes, you can get up and around more so I might go back and up to the top of the ridge there then.

I can barley see them unless I change the resolution on my monitor they are only like an inch or 2 large and I'm sure smaller for some but very beautiful. Sorry to hear about other people stealing your pics, thats kind of a compliment though in it's own way

All you do is click on the thumbnails.
Should open another browser.

Some folks have their resolution set at different levels I suppose.
The pics are quite large on my screen, just not the higher resolution.
Of course I also have a large screen, but that should not be that big of an issue.

I wonder how old some of those trees are, especially for their size.
