Goldfish like these make me nauseas.
dozens of generations of cross breeding
till you get freaks that can barely move
and would not last a day in the wild
they are gasping floating crap machines.
to each his own, I guess...

I wonder if Spynet would be as harsh towards them if they were regular comets or something?

I don't know why goldfish have the crapfest reputation, if you feed a high quality food there's not that much waste.

I know.. I use Homemade Gel food and it goes in big and comes out nice, brown, little (like rabbit tuds) and all digested. flakes >> Flakes will really make the water dirty.

I have 2 fancy goldies, about 4" a piece, in a 29 gal. I have 5 babie bristlenose plecos, about 1.5" a piece, and a 3" clown pleco in another [planted] 29 gal. The planted tank has WAY more mulm than the goldie tank. I do weekly water changes on both tanks and find that the goldie gravel is always virtually clean while I'm able to suck thick mulm from the planted tank every time.

So yeah, I think the poop factory saying about goldies isn't as bad as most people make it out to be.

when i did a gravel change my old gravel was spotless..
my tropical had huge ammounts of pooh and leaches in the gravel! I mean they make big pooh but it goes away into the filter and plants easily.
