I was told it was a type of pleco. I wish mine was still alive but the heat killed it. Nice looking fish you got.

You can by a pc fan type thing to clip on your tank to cool it down.

shame you are not doing a salt tank being in Eilat.
stores probably sell locally harvested specimens.

anyone ever in South Israel, be sure to check out
"Dolphin Beach" as they have a pod of WILD Dolphins
there, that CHOOSE to swim with scuba tourists in an
open to the sea penned off area. The beach area itself
is very European (families next to topless sun worshipers)
with wild peacocks roaming about.

Here in eilat all is around a red sea fish, corals ect...
so, runing a freshwater planted "amazon" aqurium is very intersting and uniqe thing.
all my life I'm swimming in the red sea, the sea is 5 minutes from my home so I realy don't want to see reef in my home :-)

another ironic thing is that the famous "RED SEA" company located in Eilat but, they don't sell thier stuff in israel btw, my uncle is biologist there.

also check out The Underwater Observatory Marine Park very nice place and last few years they runing there Amazon project.

Sory for my bad english,
Sergei.

mm.. Hillsteams.. they are supposed to be in a species tank.. or a tank more suited for them.. with cooler temps and a nice current.. >.> research them at all before you bought them? I heard redline barbs, raboras and such do nicely with them.. also, they will be very shy unless there is current. they are pretty little fish.. if you lok you can see their little hearts beating under their belly haha.

Technically they are a loach species, but a lot of stores stock them and label them as cold water pleco's. Ideal for goldfish tanks or guppy tanks that aren't heated

Is Hokey Pokey Really What It's all about ?

were you in Chicago last week? I talked to a guy at a fish shop and he was from Isreal and stated he was heading back to isreal that day.

Peace,
Ry

I raise my sword in the air in the battle against clado. I have been beaten in this battle but the war is not over. As my wounds heal I amass another army, an army with many legs, an army of Amano's......

I thrust my tridant into the mass of medusa like staghorn. I am wounded but I refuse to take a knee.
