Looks great icepotato89, as do all of your other scapes . Have you done anything with elatine hydropiper yet? Are you leaving the sand portion unplanted?

That hardscape is very impressive. Can't wait to see this planted.

Great start. I really like the way you placed the stones. I would do some blyxa in between the stones on the right side, maybe some tall grass type plant behind the stones in the right back corner. Maybe some DHG in the front, not sure what to suggest for the left back corner. I don't know how heavily planted you want it. Myself I would have plants all around the stones and leave the little area where the river sand is empty. What are you planning on adding for stock.

I used to keep an open mind but my brains kept falling out.

thanks everyone, i've been thinking about the plants for a while. I would like to try elatine hydropiper but it isn't available in Australia. Its going to have HC, not sure if i should do all HC or have some glosso coming from the top, following the rocks down (possibly belem HG?). mini pelia is going to be in the scape too where the soil meets the sand to stop it falling in and a few other places around the rocks

I think some rasboros would look nice in there. What do you have available locally? good LFS or do you need to order?
