Houstons 5.5gal

So ive been hoping to get my hands on a 6.6 bookshelf tank, but when a freind offered his 5.5 I took it. I used his old filter media so it only took about two weeks to cycle. I only have a few plants- what I could get at petco. I would love to get some more off of the members here. Hopefully soon.
Specs 5.5gal
13 10k watt CLF bulb, but I want to upgrade to a 26watt 6500k because the light fixture doesnt do a great job at covering the whole tank, so I need more light to distribute. This is on a budget!
Some flourite, but it is REALLY light, I dont know that I would use it again. I liked my eco complete much better.

I actually really like my hardscape, its like the bottom of a local river (which I have scuba'd in) but I need MUCH more plants to make it look really good.

and last but certainly not least, my new buddie and roomate- Aureus- horrible picture but he actually has a gorgeous purple body. Hes gorgeous for a petco betta. I just dont have the money to get one from a breeder

please excuse my iphone photos...

Tank looks good. I like the rocks you have in there. Did you collect them yourself?
Just be careful with that light. I had 2 13w cfls over a 10 gallon and it was a lot of light, I had to add co2. You should try raising it higher, if you can, to get a better spread across the tank.

I plan to do Co2 eventually. Im just a very poor college kid on a budget. One thing at a time!
and yes I did get the rocks myself, in southern Utah there are tons of great options.
