Check out this pick up

Stopped by lfs on the way home, someone brought them in, 4 MATURE Altums, huge size, never seen them this big, The price was HIGH but embarracingly low for this type of fish. (dont ask wont tell).

Just for size reference, the Geo in the first photo is hitting about 9" body.

Great find and nice tank! Those angels are definately on another level from what I've seen at the stores. Like the sandy bottom too.

From the pics, they look kinda old, perhaps that explains their size? Especially the last picture, the fins are rather ragged. Must have been through alot to get this far=) But lovely pictures.

Hi Ed, nice captures again! Just curious, those are Geo's in there right? Are you doing a cold water cycle with them and if so, how do the Altum's handle that?

I had my Geo's in around 78-79 degree water, and now have them in a 3 month "cold spell", at around 66, and wow, the colors on my gymnogeophagus meridionalis popped out like mad. Had to do some fans over the top and run the AC a bit more to get that temp down, but they are just about ready or the "summer" again.

Awesome angels and very nice pics! It looks almost fake, like they angels were placed there via photoshop. Ofcourse, they werent though.
