29 Gallon Re-scape.

I re-scaped the tank in my room again! This is what i ended up with, any thoughts and comments are welcome. I will figure out what the plant stock is and post it. As well as the fish stock. It is an overstocked really overstocked tank. Everyone is happy though and get a long. The Betta did kill an xray a while back but since then no worries. this tank has been in this incarnation for around 6 months. I know i will be taken to task for the level of overstocking. since i added everyone i have had a spare 10 gallon waiting for any emergency. It is still up and running with no fish. Should probably put something in it or tear it down.
sorry for the bad scratch in the pic. the kid helped re-scape about a year ago...

Plants.
Thin leaf swords, Melon plant, various Anubias, Java fer, Java moss, Aponogeton bulbs (just sprouting), Java moss, Crypts and a Marimo carpet.

Fish.
1 Doubletail Betta
1 Ember tetra
1 Neon tetra
2 Oto's
5 Mountain minnows
5 X-ray tetras
8 Albino Cory
6 Von Rio tetra
6 Black Neon tetras
6 Rasboras
Some ghost shrimp, RCS, Assassin snails, MTS and a Horned Nerite.
I know it's overstocked but everyone swims at different levels and are totally happy, fat and gregarious. There is one Von Rio that's is kind of a loner. He doesn't like to share the Java fern.

Equipment.
Whisper 40 HOB
Marina 10 internal filter
12 bioballs bobbing in the Outflow
Random heater
2 Marineland Hidden LED lights retrofitted to old hanging fixture
small tetra LED light
Diy 2 Bottle CO2
Substrate is Flourite capped with black gravel.
I use ferts, root tabs and CO2 liquid suppliments.
This is my first post using my PC.... Hope i did this right.

The first pic was taken during the transition to night in the tank. Thought it looked cool.

Did you de-rim this tank, or was it rimless from the start? If you de-rimmed it, how long has it been running without the top and bottom frames?

I'm just curious, because I've seen lots of smaller tanks that were de-rimmed, but 29 gallons is a lot of water and it seems pretty brave to remove both the top and bottom frames on that tank.

it was an old custom in wall tank built in the 80's with super thick glass. it sprung a leak and I tore it apart. the bottom pane was cracked and patched so I cut a replacement. it is 3/8" glass all around with a bow of 1/8" on both sides. If it hadn't been such thick glass I wouldn't have done it. It was rebuilt it 3 years ago and has been running since.
