How long has it been since your tank was set up? It looks really beautiful. I just can't seem to keep my java fern the way you have kept yours. Mine just seems to start having black spots on it and has algae growing on it as well.

What type of substrate are you using? It almost looks like the stuff I have in my 15 gallon, which is probably 65% flourite and 35% fine red flint gravel.

Great looking setup!

Yeah, the substrate is 100% Flourite. I was going to change it to soilmaster select, but I can't bring myself to tear the tank apart to do it. I changed all my other tanks to soilmaster and I love the look of it!!

Really nice looking tank. I wished I could get my ferns growning good like yours.

JenThePlantGeek: When did you become mod? Just noticed it today.

I really love the look of Soilmaster too - the charcoal stuff especially! You can't beat the price either.

conduct - I think it was Monday that I became a mod. It is a great honor, but also an indication that I spend WAY too much time on PT during work! Oh well

Ok, here is the update!!

I took out the flourite and added Soilmaster Select in the charcoal color. I like it alot better!! Also, the Celebes are gone and have been replaced with a school of 20+ Neons.
Most of the orignal plants remain except the hc and I have added some Blyxa japonica.

I hope you like the pictures, I am quite proud of this tank!

I am getting better with the camera, but still not as good as I would like to be!

Please give me some feedback!! I always like to see what others think.
