What's that decoration in the front? I'm sorry, IMO I hate fake decor. But that's just me. Other than that, I think it looks fine. Maybe some groundcover?

In college....so no aquariums for a while.....

mrbelvedere: That is a ceramic thingy, a place for the peppermints to hide. The problem with such a small tank is that it's hard to find nice pieces of wood.
There is some small amount of ground cover, some hairgrass, it's just taking it's time to grow out....any suggestions?

I would like to suggest maybe placeing a red plant on the right side, to add a bit of contrast and it will help cover up some of your equipment.

And oh how about some Shrimp in there too...? ^_^

Cheers,

I have been hatching a plan for a DIY cannister mainly so I can embed the heater in the cannister. I'm thinking of an ozelet sword to go on the right hand side to balance it up a little. I would place it towards the back half of the tank.

Update time,

The peppermints went to a bigger tank to grow out and hopefully one day breed on me. I got my hands on some cheap neons which are going to be cycling fish, but are temporary residents inthe cube for now. The adult guppies moved out and now the juvies are growing up in it.

I moved out the wood with the peppermints, a small piece of wood with java fern attached has replaced it. I started CO2 dosing two weeks ago, using a homebrew CO2 system with a CO2 ladder. That was going great, I had to move it to another tank as the pH started dropping, it will move back when the pH rises.

I added two crypts into there a couple of weeks ago and they have already developed around three new leaves each.
