I orginaly started out with a planted 29 gal. It was going well after about 8 months. So I decided to upgrade. I should have left well enough alone. Lesson learned.
Things got kinda rough. I bought a bunch of new plants from a difrent plant person than I had used before. The result was a horrific experance with algea. I'm only now getting that stabalized. Most of the plants that bought from that person were a compleate loss. Talk about disapointing! Not to mention an expensive loss.
For a long time I was too ashamed to show my ermm... 'face'
Ok.. my tank that is.
Things are slowly starting to come back togeather again.
Please ignore the remaining algea, and the severe aquascaping issues. Once the algea is actualy gone I will worry about the aquascaping. The plants are growing like crazy now. I have way too many background/mid plants and currently have like..umm.. no foreground. At least in this tank anyway. When the algea is gone I will remidy that situation. The tank isnt ready yet though.
Its getting there.
My rainbowfish are back to spawning again though. This time its my desert rainbows and my bosemans.
Here is what I started with: (why O' WHY didnt I leave it alone?!)
Here is my current 55 gal tank (it will get better... I hope):
The old planted tank... is still a planted tank. It now houses shrimp, baby apple snails (and other snails) and breeding guppies.... its UGLY... but the in habitants dont seem to care as they are breeding like that activity is going out of style. LOL
