ADA 30C - PRL shrimp Project

- Hi guys , this is 30C for Pure Red Line CRS . Everything still in construction


• Tank : ADA 30C with Mr Aqua Stand
• Light : Gex Mini 13w ( or 9W , I don't know )
• Substrate : ADA new aqua soil
• Filter :1/ Eheim 2215 connect with JBJ nano chiller
2/ Undergravel Filter connect with Air Pump and covered by Seachem Matrix above
• Plants : Taiwan moss and Mini Bolbistis

Cool project, I wouldn't use an undergravel filter with aquasoil though, I mean, that is what it says on the bag, probably because it will turn to mush faster.

I like your plans.

Stick to your guns with the UGF to eliminate the anerobic layer and keep toxicity down. This is one of the few areas where the needs of a planted and shrimp tank are different.

The shrimp tank and plants tank are different . Actually , I need to make water flow under substrate . When setting up a new bee shrimp breeding tank, i ideally use an undergravel filter, which turns the substrate into a filter medium and moves potentially harmful substances downwards before they can be taken up by the shrimp and lead to intoxications


Important when used together with an undergravel filter!

The substrate has to be as even and smooth so the water can stream through it in all places, enabling bacteria to fully colonize it. Hilly landscaping and/or a sloping substrate severely infringe the fiter performance as the water only flows through the thinner sections.

- update : 5/14/2013

after a cycling time and i got PRL from Benibachi . They lose color because stress out during Shipping time , but they will be fine and they would recover soon
