My 55 gallon

I'm a college student and I have discus. I have them all in 2 planted tanks. This one I will be showing you will be a 55g.

This tank has 0 co2, ph is 8.4, no2 0, nh3/4 is 0, andno3 is 15.
4 Blue diamonds
4 SAE
1 yellow pleco
2 dwarf blue gouramis
8 cadinal tetras.

3 sword plants cuple valls
some slight.

this pick was its first month set up.

I will post the pic as soon as i figure the codes out

You have to post it to an outside web hosting site, like Photobucket, first, then copy that URL to the IMG box here.

Edit: Ah, looks like you beat me to it as I was writing. Pretty tank... although everyone else here will probably keel over and die at the blue gravel, I like the way in complements your discus. But that's just the art major in me. I think it would look really killer if the background was black too. =)

this is a cuple months later my plants are half the size. my swords to be exsact I changed the bulbs and yeah the swords are half the hight not the full. any sugestions.

I hope they are interesting enough. The plants are what i'm concierned there not growing as good as they first where the first 2 months. ever since the runner they hit a slump. any sugestions?

A better substrate for plants would help you. Aquarium gravel is coated so it hardly hold any nutrients at all and swords are pretty heavy root feeders.

Yeah i agree I don't like the enamil but they dont have natural baby blue stones. i find the discus colors come out way better. My 112g looks natural but the discus are darker. I'm going to try puting the white back ground of raping paper on the back of my tank and see how that works.

Maybe put down some better substrate (Eco-Complete or Flourite or something) and then layer some blue gravel over it? That way you still get the blue gravel but the plants get better root-feeding too.
