My First 30 Gallon Tall Planted Tank

I started this stank around 6 months ago with standard gravel but realized very quickly that it wouldn't cut it. I did a full substrate change to Safe-T-Sorb and added some of the gf's Pool Filter Sand in the corner for contrast. Added DIY CO2 via 3 2 liter bottles. Started dosing the tank with Macro Micro Mix from Aquarium Fertilizer.com and the plants are finally outgrowing the hair algae!

The plants that I'm sure of are my banana plant and my amazon sword, as for the stem plant and the runner style grass I cant remember because i was just starting out. Can anyone help me out?

As for the fish i have a Dwarf Gourami, 7 Neon Tetras, 3 Garra Gotyla, Golden Dojo Loach, A male guppy, and a Rubber Lip Pleco

I just wanted to get some advice from you guys since this is my first post and all.

-1 18" 6500k T8, and ~40w Cfls 6500k
-DIY CO2 hooked to 10gallon hob, only runs with lights
-Emperor 400 filter with floss and purigen only (no carbon)
-Lights run 11am-4pm, off for 2 hrs, then from 6pm-11pm (siesta)
-Feed fish on S,M,W,F,S
-50% water change on Wed every week

On with the crappy cellphone pics!

The background photo is a bit distracting, maybe no background or moss wall perhaps?

Alright guys whatcha think? I unapplied the background from the glass, i think it gives the background a nice tint. Maybe ill do solid black in another month or so when the plants really fill in densely

Old thread but updates!

Heres the tank before I tore it down. Learned a lot with this tank and changed to a 40b when I moved. Much easier to trim.

I have a 30g tall currently, it was my first tank to get planted and hasn't gone anywhere since. Do you recommend I trade the tank for a 20H, or go no planted?

Toughest part about it being tall is getting the par levels to be consistent. I struggled with too much light at the top and not enough at the bottom. I still run this tank but I use plants that hardy ever need trimming.
