Shack's 30gal EH Tank Journal

So finally here are pictures of my tank. It has been up and going for about 3 weeks or so.
I just recently replanted the whole thing after I got new plants from Aquariumplants.com.

Setup:
Tank 30gal Extra High 24"Lx12"Wx24"H
AH Supply 2x55w retro kit. Currently only running it with one 10000k bulb.
Whisper 4 power filter
250wt Visi-therm heater
DIY Co2 Runnning 24hrs
pH is about 6.9-7.0
KH is 7 degrees
GH is 10 degrees

Flora:
Green Hedge
Sunset Hedge
Red Wendtii
Bronze Wendtii
Glosso
Sunset Hedge
Java moss
Nubias Nana
Creeping Charlie
Red Rotala
Red Tiger Lotus

Fauna:
6 Oto's
5 Black Phantom Tetras
1 pair German Blue Rams
2 Bleeding Heart Tetras (about 6 years old now)
1 Cory Adolfoi
1 Red Spotted Shrimp
2 Red Rainbows
2 Rasboras
2 copper Rasboras

A few bumps along the way, but it is all looking very good so far. When the tank clears up I will post more pictures.

This my first planted tank that required Co2 so tell me what you think. I have tough skin I so I can take the critism, if any.

Nice!

A few of the plants you've got there are going to grow very large with good light and CO2 so I imagine it might look a bit different in a few months time.

Question is though, why use only one bulb at the moment at less than 2w/g?

I had an old reflector that I retrofited the first light into. I don't have another one so I have to build an enclosure for both of the lights.

What you can not see is the that the tank already has oak canopy on it so I am working a way to create something that will fit underneath the canopy.

The tank has actually cleared up quite a bit and some new fish were added this weekend. I will post more pics when I get home.

As for the growth rate, I am surprisedthat plants I add last week have grown as much as they have already.
