Lorenceo's Tank(s) updated 05/01 (56K warning.. kinda)

Hey everyone, Trust everything is well.
Decided that because I've got a digital camera at the moment (need to give it back soon) I would take some pics of my main tank.
I always look through the photo album forum, commenting on peoples aquascapes and getting ideas from them, But I've never shown my tank.
Well, Now that I can, I will.

Tank specs:
150 litres/40 gallons
324w of t5's (tinfoil reflectors) these are stagered, most of the time there are only 2 tubes running (108w)
Filtered by an Eheim 2028
Diy co2 diffused by an inline reactor. (reactor is run by a small pump, and reactor is above water level - no back pressure worries)
No ferts dosed, I'm still new at this.

Please dont be too harsh on me, It doesnt look too flash, and I'm new at taking tank pics

Click for bigger image.

Plants were closing up at the time, lights were about to go off.

Female ram. Her mate died, bought a replacement, but am unsure if it is a male.

Some ambulia.

Surface shot. Note the guppy fry.

Thats all for now, lights are off. Will take more tomorrow.

Great tank! Your plants look really healthy!

Gotta ask - how long has it been running (without ferts!) and what's the substrate?

Been going since april last year. Wasnt always a planted tank, I started adding plants around july 2004.
Substrate is just gravel, its full of mulm though, If I disturb it a little, I get huge clouds of crud that cloud the water.
I've never added ferts, My plants always grew (although not very well)
When I upgraded the lighting from 4 20w no tubes, everything took off, but so did the algea.
I had been holding out on co2, but decided to get it going because the algea didnt look exactly nice.

Thanks for comments. Will take more pics now.

Looks GREAT!

The reds are gorgeous. The plants and fish look so healthy.

It was worth the wait. Beautiful aquarium, Lorenco!

Woo hoo! We finally get to see Lorenceo's tank! And what a tank it is!

That is some of the nicest ambulia I've seen. And those ferns are growing without any flaws. The whole scape reminds me of an opening in a dense forest. Inspiring and well done. Nice bit of cheer on this gloomy Wisconsin day.

Ted

I'm flattered, Really. But its far from perfect.
You cant see it in the pics, but there is BBA all over the wood.
Dense forest is about right. Whenever I cut the plants, it ruins the look.
If I do trim the plants, I cant replant them, as all the floorspace is taken.

The more I read, the more impressed I am.

This is a perfect example of obtaining *lush* growth with a relatively low-tech setup: gravel substrate, DIY CO2, no ferts, improvised lighting..

Its under the java ferns, And I'd rather not take pics of it.
That and a little hair algea are the only real problems I have with this tank, And because you have to really look at the tank to find it, it doesnt bother me too much.
