Mike's 10 gallon with new lights(updated 12/04/05)

I recently purchased a 1X36 watt bright kit from ahsupply. So far I am very happy with my decision!
I wanted to show a few pictures of the tank with its new lights!

Plants:
Green Hygro
Rotala indica
Stargrass
Glosso
Microsword
Ludwigia repens
Java Fern
Willow Moss

I've been thinking of buying that same light for a 10 of mine. Thanks for the post. Looks nice.

Well, Here is a little update!

I removed the Rotala indica and added an Amazon Sword, and some dwarf hairgrass. I also now have fish in the tank!! 1 otto and 6 Celebes Rainbows (2 male 4 female) with any luck, I will soon have fry!!!

Does anyone know why my hygro is not growing up? It seams like the top is to heavy for the stem to hold up, it is almost growing down to the substrate.

I do not add any ferts, just diy CO2.

Thanks
Mike

Mike,

Hygro commonly does this under high light. Notice how the hygro changes color under high light (pinkish)? That color change is frequenly accompanied by stems growing towards the substrate. I can't say exactly why. I have my ideas, but they are unproven. Here's a shot of they hygro in my tank, "running away" from the light http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/20051202.jpg
