it's a black arowana, unless i'm misstaken. Or maybe its a gold one, hard to tell with the flash on. I love to see fellow arowana lovers. I think nothing is better than an arowana in a BIG planted tank. Thanks for the pics. it look great. I got a 12 inch silver aro in my 75 gallon planted tank. I love watching them hunt for their prey..

Are thoes smaller fish in your tank for the arow to munch on? They look like commets or something. My aro loves commets.

75 gallon, fillstar xp2 with inline reactor, 12 Lb pressurised co2, 4.2 WPG-corallife 3x96 watt PC-, fluorite/silica-sand substright.

It's an Australian arowana ("saratoga"/"jardini"/"barramundi") - either Scleropages jardini or S. leichardti; see http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Park/4724/.

actually its a jardini hehe all good
yeh it's a few cichlids
i have 1x jardini, 1x 16cm Synondotis eupterus, a pair of bn, 1x 20cm common pleco, trio of electric yellow, lombardoi breeding pair, 2x fronts, salousi ect
im not much of a cichlid fan but the previous owner didn't want them so i took it off his hands. the fish are actually tank mates of the aro he never eats them even though they are so small i had fry swimming about not having to worry
its been good.
my new plan is to get some riccia and cover the tank with riccia but i cant get co2 weir overflow wet dry filter
