Just rescaped my 180 Gal (Aug 29, 2005 updated 56K warning)

I cleaned up the right side of the tank, and placed some new rocks there. I also replanted everthing in background, so its a little empty now, but should grow in a month or two.

Awesome tank, I like every bit of it. Make sure you update us with pictures in a few weeks when everything has filled in.
And if you could share some more details... light, fertilization, etc.

I tied the riccia to the wood using fish lines. Actually, I am using riccia as filler, eventually I when everything else grown, there shouldn't be any riccia except those floating.

I use simple PMDD + MgSO4 + KCl + KNO3 + K2HPO4 approach. Just does PMDD and MgSO4 sparingly, increase 1 ppm K everyday, and keep NO3 at 10 - 20, as well as PO4 between 1 - 2 ppm. Substrate is 100% Flourite, plus a layer of peat at the bottom, and some jobe sticks equivalent around the root feeders.

I have 4 X 150W MH Lights, each illuminate 6 hours a day in turn from right to left with 2 hours full illumination everyday.

Water parameters:
25 - 26 C day 24 - 25 C night
pH 6.4 GH 4 KH 3
WC 1/3 every week

I guess its quite standard really.

Looks good! And you know, when you see a tank being done right, the plants not only look good, they look healthy. And you've got that covered!

Great tank!

Steve - 33g reef and a 180g planted in need of a re-scape.

That should look awsome once it's grown in! Nice job scaping that big tank, I know it can be a PITA to get something that looks nice.

Yes, they are riccia. There are actually two kinds of them, one that grow side way which is a lot thicker, another is thinner and tend to grow upwards. But then they grow too fast, so I already replaced most of them with Hemianthus callitrichoides "Cuba". I will make an update of my tank soon, but please don't get your expectation high, since this is a big tank, its hard to get everything grown to the "sweet spot" at the same time though I aim at having most of everything just right before the end of the year.

In fact, I did trim them twice, then I decided its too much work to maintain a lawn of riccia while waiting for other plants to grow so I replaced them with Hemianthus callitrichides "cuba".
