That is a great start!! I have thought about building the same setup!!! Cant wait to see what you do with it. That oceanic line is just so smooth and crafty.

Great start off, I love the stand! Can't wait to see the improvements of this setup! What kind of filtration are you planning to get?

I have an eheim 2213 sitting inside the stand ready to go.

I am still deciding on what type of scape to do though. Until I get a couple more bags of eco-complete and decide on a scape and purchase plants, it is going to sit there. I am waiting for inspiration to hit me, anyone have ideas?

I would go with an amanoscape with the kind of tank you have, its difficult to do a dutch scape with a cube tank.

You can look on www.aquariumdesigngroup.com, www.greenchapter.com for more ideas!

It has been forever since I updated the status of this tank. I know I will get chastized for this, but......I decided not to make it a freshwater planted tank. After a lot of encouragement from a neighbor with salt tanks, I made it my first reef tank.

Here are a few current pics, it is coming along slowly.

As you can see, I used a different light fixture (mh with pc actinics), my dad wanted to strangle me after building me the other fixture, hehe. It was a big change in plans, but I am really enjoying it so far. All my other tanks remain freshwater planted, I haven't lost interest in them yet. I won't be posting any further updates on this tank as it no longer pertains, but I didn't want to leave it hanging on here.

I just bought the absolute same tank except mine has the black stand and trim. Your tank looks great. My wife has been trying to get me to go salt but I've been resisting. Maybe this is my chance. But I'm not sure yet.

By the way, what did you do with those AH 2X36's?
