Peteypobs 55gal****UPDATE 2/22/06****(56k warning)

Hi All
First off, sorry for the crapy pics! I just figured out(I think) how to post pics. These are really crappy and flushed out major color from my plants. The sunset hygro looks pale at the tips but its a really pretty pink. I need help on rearranging things. All comments and suggestions welcome!

I want to put something in between the japanica on the forground but dont know what. I have cut my star grass down to half its size shown and gotten rid of all the E. Stellata you see but three little side shoots. I hope they will fill up like the ones shown above.

The japanica looks great! I might just need to get that plant! You can try glossostigma as a foreground or possibly hairgrass?

Looks like the new lights have been working well for your tank. It looks great. Just one idea for the foreground and that is just using some moss. Take your choice of what kind, but the dark green moss with the japanica may look good. The mesh you would use to hold it down could be cut to fit in perfectly. That is all I got for now on that.

It looks like you have the adjustable legs on your Coralife and a glass top. Did you have some glass cut to fit or I am just seeing things? Also, how has your fert program changed with the increase in light.

-Yes the lights have been great to my tank! Although I have a bit of a problem growing javas now, they turn black and dont grow. Under the first fixture they grew like mad, maybe Im cooking them. As far as my dosing I started out the reccomended EI method levels and adjusted from there. I am dosing like mad, with the lights and co2 the plants suck the water dry of all ferts in it. I am dosing 18ml of csm+b plus extra iron into the tank. I mix 2 tbls into 250ml of water and take from there. So my concentration is pretty strong but this is where I ended up after months of trial and error. Anything less my sunset lose their color in a day and macrandra red starts to fade and turns a little green on the edges, all other plants show their signs as well. The tank is open top, couldnt really find anything that would work with them

Hi all,
Alot has change since my former layout. I had a period where I slacked off quite a bit due to the holidays and school. I ripped out most of my plants and decided to keep it simple. I will post as the plants begin to fill up a little more. Heres the first full tank shot. I have crappy photo skill so please forgive me .

The backround is a little messed up because I wasnt paying attention while filling up the tank and it overflowed!
