This is my attempt at aquascaping a 42 gallon hexagon. I'm trying to slowly transform it into a different style. That style will have some iwagumi type rocks and only about 6-7 different kinds of plants. I figured I'd post now so I could show you the transition. Will update as I get more plants, remove plants, or have some significant growth!
Added blyxa japonica, potamogeton gayi. Removed hemianthus micranthemoides, black neon tetras, and blue ram.
At first it looked like this:

Fluval 205 filter
DIY yeast CO2 (two 2-liter bottles)
2 6500k 100-watt equivalent cfl bulbs in reflectors
1 south american bumblebee catfish
2 angelfish (pair)
3 glass catfish
1 ozelot sword
2 uruguay swords
1 amazon sword
Blue Mama angelfish
In the end I hope to have the rocks jutting up above the plants and the tallest plants in the middle reaching only about 1/3 of the way up. As I add CO2 and more lighting I will try to get more plants as well. Suggestions would be great!
End flora ideas may include some of the following:
my paired angelfish
green coydoras aeneus
dwarf cichlid pair/trio
I now have CO2 and pretty bright lighting! If you have any of these and would like to trade for or sell to me let me know!
staurogyne repens [acquired]
blyxa japonica [acquired]
Any suggestions would be great. Thanks for looking!
