42 Gallon Angelfish Hexagon

This is my attempt at aquascaping a 42 gallon hexagon. I'm trying to slowly transform it into a different style. That style will have some iwagumi type rocks and only about 6-7 different kinds of plants. I figured I'd post now so I could show you the transition. Will update as I get more plants, remove plants, or have some significant growth!

1 south american bumblebee catfish
2 angelfish (pair)
3 glass catfish
? guppies

Current flora:

In the end I hope to have the rocks jutting up above the plants and the tallest plants in the middle reaching only about 1/3 of the way up. As I add CO2 and more lighting I will try to get more plants as well. Suggestions would be great!

End flora ideas may include some of the following:
my paired angelfish
rummynose tetras
green coydoras aeneus
otocinclus
rummynose tetras
dwarf cichlid pair/trio
dwarf? hatchetfish

I now have CO2 and pretty bright lighting! If you have any of these and would like to trade for or sell to me let me know!
End flora:
pogostemon erectus
hyptis lorentzianna
staurogyne repens [acquired]
hemianthus callicthrodes
blyxa japonica [acquired]
dwarf hairgrass

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks for looking!

Thanks! I'm hoping to make a light with several bright 6500k cfl's soon.

Update: Getting some blyxa japonica soon, removed the hemianthus callicthrodes, and the staurogyne repens is growing well. Will add more pictures when I get the blyxa japonica. The angelfish laid more eggs on the ozelot sword so I may have some babies soon!

Trying to decide whether or not to remove the driftwood and/or swords... I need suggestions! I got some pogostemon erectus to plant in here today! I either want to get new driftwood or some nice rocks. I have a hard time finding good driftwood and ways to arrange it but I have a feeling it will be the same with rocks. Any opinions?

Love your Blue Angel! Personally, I kinda like the DW you have because it looks tall to me and with your tall tank it helps fill in that space. If anything I'd say just add more plants. Maybe something with some color? But I do like the texture of Pogostemon erectus!

I never took out the wood. Everything is waaay more grown so I will have to update soon. I think I am going to wait on the rocks because I can't find any I like and I am transferring the huge sword to a different tank soon.
