125 redo

I figured that I would start a journal about my 125 redo. I have never been happy with the tank as it was so I want to rip it down and redo it completely.

Here is a list of what I currently have:

125 gallon Aqueon non drilled tank with matching stand
2 x Nova Extreme 4x39 watt light fixtures(total of 8 bulbs)
2 x Eheim 2217 canister filters
2 x Hydor 300watt inline heaters
150lbs of Eco Complete with a sandy shore area
Various pieces of drift wood collected from lake travis

The current stocking list

5 x Angel fish (3 golden 1 koi and 1 pearl veiled)
20 x Cardinal tetras ( there were about 40 before the angels lol)
12 x Panda cories
5 x Oto cats
4 x Bristlenose plecos
3x Siamese Flying Foxs

I am planning on breaking every thing down because of an out break of pond snails and starting over.

I am going to redo the lighting and the filters as I don't like the equipment that I currently have for this tank. Here are the changes I am making:

2x Fluval x5 canister filters
3x Dimmable 30 led custom fixtures or if I can find a heatsink long and wide enough I will just do one 90 led fixture
2x hydor 300 watt inline heaters
2x 36 watt UV sterilizers
2x custom build CO2 reactors
1x 10lbs CO2 tank
1x Apex digital controller with net feature and all the probes

I know the two x5's are a bit overkill but I am planning ahead for a larger tank. My goal is to sale this and all the current equipment and go with a 300 or 500 gallon tank but that may wait until later. I may need a new house lol

Here is a current pic

Though I have been in the hobby for years I am new to the planted tank world and looking to explore this as I go.

PS sorry for the crappy pic. I need to find my digital cam and not use my iPhone lol

Well no sooner than I post this and go back to the living room to net some of the fish out to move them to another tank I find these

It would seem the angels like their home very much so I may be buying another tank for this project unless I can get them moved safely to their own 55 gallon tanks after the and if the fry hatch.

Well there is another update. The first round of angelfish eggs did hatch but were eaten so I am going to move that pair out of the tank into their own 40b and now I have the issue of another pair decided to lay eggs and until they hatch the tank is still on hold because they decided it was good to ignore the verious sword plants currently in the tank and lay their eggs on the Eheim intake so I will need wait to see what they are going to do and if the eggs or fry get eaten again I will move that pair to their own 40b so I can dismantle the tank.
