My 55 gallon low tech journal

A friend of mine needed space in her spare room so her mother could move in. The fact that I was willing to come get it immediately netted me a free 55gallon and an iron stand, so I'm going to turn it into a planted tank. I am somewhat experienced with planted tanks but I have never done anything over 20g so I'm open to advice. The tank will be low tech, here is what I am thinking.

Tank-55g (48x12x21)
Filter - either an Ehiem 2217 or and Ehiem ECCO 2234
Lights - planning on a 48" Nova Extreme X2 T5HO but I'm open to suggestions
Substrate - Eco complete

Still putting a list together

Cardinal Tetra x12
Rummynose Tetra x12
GBR x2

This is where I need some help, I am looking for suggestions on bottom level fish. I would also like to keep a farlowella or two would they work with the dwarf cichlids? And lastly could I keep a trio of Apistogramma in the same tank with GBRs?

Thanks in advance. I will post a complete plant list and probably some pics later this evening.

Alright, I got together a complete plant list.

Ludwigia Broadleaf
Blyxa Auberti
Sagittaria Subulata
Cryptocoryne Wendtii
Cryptocoryne Retrospiralis
Flame Moss
Dwarf Hairgrass

Here is a diagram of what I am thinking for the aquascape.

Here is a picture of the tank.

I have the tank set up and running now with some extra plants and a few fish I am growing out.

I had a plan for this tank, but I decided I wanted something that looked nice and is easy to take care of so I went a little different direction. I ended up using some Cryptocoryne Wendtii, Cryptocoryne Balansae, and Java Fern windelov that I had in another tank. I also went out and purchased some giant hairgrass. Now I am just going to let the tank grow in for a few months before making any major changes.

The final accounting is as follows.

Giant Hairgrass
Cryptocoryne Wendtii
Cryptocoryne Balansa
Java Fern windelov

12x Cardinal Tetra
6x Rummynose Tetra
2x Apistogramma panduro
3x Hypancistrus Contradens
1x Hypostomus sp L138
