Hello fellow members! This is my 1st attempt @ Aquascaping. Not your ordinary tank to start a new hobby. The Fluval Edge was my son's tank. He loves the tank now compare it's old look with Guppies, plastic plants, & colorful graves. Now I'm working on my own 17g cube tank.

  • Mod stock Hood w/ MR11x5
  • 20oz paintball CO2 tank w/ Fluval Regulator
  • Seiryu Stone (Random sizes)
  • ADA Amazonia Aquasoil (normal/powder)
Flora:
  • HC,
  • Limnophia,
  • Aromatica,
  • Blyxa,
  • Ludwigia Repens,
  • Downoi,
  • Rotala Butterfly,
  • Dwarf Hairgrass,
  • Rotala SP Green,
  • Eriocaulon Sp. 'Setaceum'

Wow! I'm very impressed. Great scape, let alone in a fluval edge!

You certainly don't seem like a first timer. Very nice mountain going on there.

I set up my fluval edge on my mother's countertop and she dropped a glass on it and broke the top. She thought I was going to be mad but I said, thank god I don't have to deal with that tank anymore! haha

Thanks Tizzite! I did a lot or research on this forum and SCAPE to get educated in the hobby. I almost removed the top of the Fluval Edge to make it a rimless so I didn't have to deal with the small top opening. But it was my son's tank & he wanted the top to remain.

Now I'm starting on my own rimless 17g cube.

Beautiful tank !!!

How did you get the Fluval Regulator to work with a paintball tank? Did you just buy a adaptor? I heard there was problems with the thread not properly fitting.

Got a pic of your Co2 set up? Interested in your lights as well, pic please?

I actually think this might top the list of beautiful Edge tanks. Good work.

Are you using the metal halides that come with the edge. I tried a planted tank with my old one before and I ended up with nasty algae all over my hard scape... plants did fine but the algae was harshing my buzz so I took it all apart.. now my GF uses the tank to house her betta.

@ FlyingHellFish, thanks for the kind words!! I have read most if not all thread about how to/how not to connect the regulator to the paintball tank. All I bought were a paintball remote/control line w/ quick release ($15) on Amazon and a adaptor ($2.50)(which was silver like the regulator, most adaptor for the size that fits the thread were copper) @ my locate hardware store. The adaptor fits right into the regulator and coil line goes into the other end.

@matty26, the whole tank is carpeted in HC. Link for MR11 & MR16 (white 6500K):

@williamsonaaron, my 1st a temp ended up in algae break out cause I went on a weekend vacation. Came home to a green tank so I just started all over again with more care.

Here's a link showing my journey from start to finish: http://www.scapeclub.org/forum/showthread.php?t=11386
