I have 4 brothers & a sister. Yesterday my oldest brother died :-(
Although he was mentally ill, he is whom I attribute my love for art.
As a kid he was as a good looking guy, that the kids in the neighborhood looked up to. He was my idol. Then a terrible thing happened because of way to much LSD and my brother went away in more than one way for over 10 years. For all but the last two months I was the one who communicated with him, because he trusted me. He was on a lot of meds & always said he had been to the coconut farm with a lot of other nuts.
I am telling this story for two reasons. The first being that there are many people we all see every day on the streets, people that need help. Yet we as a society banish them. The next time you see someone like I describe remember that someone loves them, a brother, a mother, father, or maybe an old friend. You might think about just saying "hi" or a simple smile, maybe even give them that extra buck in your pocket.
As a kid I would watch him for hours doing what he did best Art.I so wished that I would be able to draw, sketch and build as he did. At this he was brilliant and his troubles would leave him alone & this is where he got his peace.
I am dedicating a tank that I have been working really hard on because i think it will be my best yet. I dub this tank "Billy's playground"". It is not done but that is OK ...its ART & it will change as does everything else...
May you rest in peace
