Planted 25 Gallon

CURRENTLY TRYING TO GET RID OF TANNINS!

Equipment:
25 Gallon Tank
Marineland H.O.T Magnum
Fluker's Black Clamp Lamp
Silver Clamp Lamp From Lowes
2x 13 Watt 6500K Coil Bulb
Hagen Elite 150 Watt Heater

Substrate:
Miracle Gro's Organic Choice Potting Mix
Children's Playsand
Natural Gravel
River Stones

Inhabitants:
1 Female Copper Crowntail Betta
1 Female Yellow Veiltail Betta
1 Female Pink/Purple Veiltail Betta
3 Common/Silver Hatchets
5 Amano Shrimps
1 Marbled Sucking Loach (Only temporary!)
2 Electric Green Skirt Tetras (Only temporary!)
1 Peppered Cory Cat
3 Female Dalmatian Lyretail Mollies
1 Male Silver Lyretail Molly
1 Female Balloon Molly

It is a bit messy. Most of the pictures the lights are off.

About the next to last picture, I don't have any current tank pictures. It only shows 1 clamp lamp, that is false as of yesterday. But the way the plants and logs are it is current. It also doesn't have any hatchets.

The very last one, is a picture of my lotus bulb. I got it last week.

Not bad. That is a really tall tank. Looks good though. If you run some carbon, it should help with the tannins. And you may want to change the glass bowl part in the first post. Lol.

Where is the betta in that tank? Is it in that breeder box on the top left?

No the Betta is all over the tank. Can never get clear shots of her. I only have Java moss in the Breeder Box.

Ah, I can't see it at all in the pictures haha. What color is it? Btw, if you wanna run purigen it'll clean up tannins much better than carbon.

She is poking at the Breeder net. You can kinda see her in the last pic. She is called a Copper with like a Pinkish/Purpleish tinge. What is Purigen?

It's like activated carbon, only much much better. If you have carbon on hand just use that. But when you run out don't buy carbon again. Purigen is much much better: http://www.seachem.com/Products/prod...s/Purigen.html

And I still can't find the betta haha.

I will try to get pictures of her. I ran out of Carbon months ago. I will try that, though.

If you do buy purigen, there's really two options. 1st option is buying the 100mL box which comes with a bag. The other option is to buy 200+mL and use pantyhose or something to contain the purigen and just stick that into your filter.

I will probably do Option 2. Although I am going to have to figure out how to get in my Canister.

You can just stick a pantyhose filled with purigen with your cermanic filler or filter floss area. It should be able to fit in there pretty easily.
