10 gallon, work in progress

Welcome to the jungle. From someone still amazed that his plants are growing, not dying!

10 gallon, 2x 23W 5000k Compact Fluorescent Spirals, DIY CO2, PMDD.

This is right after a complete trim & replant. The fast growing stem plants are towards the back and will hopefully grow up to make a nice plant wall.

It's definitely chaotic looking. I like that look, though not quite to this extent. I stuffed this tank with 10 different plant species from the LFS, expecting many to die. None did, though the wisteria and a mystery plant seem to be slowly succumbing to spot algae. And I just can't bring myself to throw away any of them to give the tank a more coherent look... so I see another planted tank in my near future!

Welcome to the club. Choosing plants to toss is pretty tough. But thats a nice start you have there.

Fantastic growth, DarkCobra! Looks terrific!

I lived in Spanish Town a few years back - loved it! (REALLY miss S.T. Mardi Gras parade...)

Did you make the hood for the lighting? I can't picture 23 watt spirals fitting in a store bought hood.

Good to see some enthusiasts from the Louisiana area! Combo reply follows:

Plants: Hornwort, anacharis, cabomba, bacopa, moneywort, water wisteria, banana plant, aponogeton, fringe plant, one unidentified. All from the local Petsmart.

Sly: The mid/background plant on the right side, with the light green oval leaves, is moneywort.

Urkevitz: The hood is an anomaly. It's an ancient second-hand store-bought incandescent, and is much larger than anything I see marketed these days. The 23-watt spirals fit easily. Wish I could get more like this. I also painted the interior with white appliance epoxy.
