My ten gallon aquarium

Here is my ten gallon aquarium. In the past few months I've been adding more plants, and am planning to add much more to make a fully planted aquarium. I will be soon upgrading from a 1.5 WPG to 2.8 WPG, so I will have more opportunity to grow higher light plants. I will also be adding a DIY CO2 system in a few weeks. Currently, I have 2 sword plants, a big clump of java fern, 1 annubias, 1 anacharis bunch, and a wisteria that is not doing so well. I also have 6 cardinals, which I got today, but you won't be able to see them too well. Oh yea, there is also one skunk cory, which I had for 3 years, which is now quite big.

I'd like your comments and suggestions to make my tank better.

Let us know about the Cardinals. I hear they are kind of "fragile".

Your sword should grow well, perhaps too well unless it's a compacta variety. If it grows too big and you want a borad leaf plant, try anubias frazeri.

Looks great! Nice greenery, and maybe a bit of color contrast (some redness) would be great too!

Regarding cardinals, I don't find them as fragile as people said. I have 20 in my 10G. Originally 30 but I give some back to my LFS. These 20 cardinals has gone through every tank mishaps from day 1. I think they vary from batch to batch, and luckily I have a good batch from the start.

I don't think transportation stress has that much to do with it. If these fish are from South America. The trip to US is much much shorter than the trip to Taiwan.

I also find them happier when there are a good number of them together. I've seen some other people's tanks locally where they only have a few of them (6 and under) in tanks much larger than my 10G, that are not doing too well either. So maybe the sheer size of the school contributed to their hardiness.

Thanks for your comments.

I just got the cardinals yesterday, and they are still hiding out in the back! Quite boring. Hopefully they will come out and swim after they get used to the tank.

BTW, my light just came today. Juiced up to 2.8 per gallon!

I need to pick up some yeast to start my CO2 system soon.
